Farewell to the outgoing Chairman and PPG Clinical Lead
We said a fond farewell to two prominent members of the Aspen Patients Participation Group this week and presented them with meritorious service certificates to recognise their achievements with the PPG.
Andrew Harding has served as the Chairman of the group and has been instrumental to the leadership and direction of the PPG. Leading by example he has always been visible when supporting the practice with campaigns such as the flu campaign and lately supporting the practice at Churchdown with the Mass Vaccination Programme. We bid Andrew and his wife Tricia who have both been supporting the PPG all the best for the future and thank him for his loyal service to the Aspen Community.
Dr Jhumpa Sarkar has supported the group as the PPG Clinical lead acting as the interface between the PPG and the Aspen Practice. Jhumpa is one of the practices partners and started off at Saintbridge surgery in 2003 after finishing her medical training, where she trained in obstetrics and gynaecology before deciding to be a GP. Jhumpa has been a real asset to the PPG since the merger of practices forming the Aspen Medical Practice and will be missed by all of the members on the group.
We have received lots of messages from members wishing both Andrew and Jhumpa all the best and much appreciation for the service they have given to the PPG and know they have left good legacies to follow with the development and forthcoming changes with the PPG. At the present time the Chairman's position will not be filled, until the membership is developed and settled into the new ways of operating as a PPG. The Interim Vice Chairman will support the direction and develop alongside Dr Nicky Wilson who has taken the role on from Dr Sarkar.
