The Aspen Patients Participation Group (PPG) membership is not based on the opinions or characteristics of any individuals within the group. All members should be non-political and non-sectarian, at all times. We respect Diversity & Inclusion and exemplifying its commitment to the principles contained within the Equality Act 2010.
All Members of the PPG are requested to make this commitment:
To respect the Practice and Patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.
To treat each member with mutual respect at all times and to act in a manner that is in the best interests of all patients and practice staff.
To be open and flexible, to listen and support each other in our tasks.
To abide by the seven Nolan Principles of Public Life: Selflessness, Integrity, Objectivity, Accountability, Openness, Honesty and Leadership.
Not to use the PPG as a forum for personal agendas or complaints. These should be taken forward through the practice complaints procedure.
To accept that the ruling of the Chair or other presiding officer is final on matters relating to orderly conduct.
To abide by principles of good meeting practice, for example:
- Reading papers in advance
- Arriving on time or sending apologies for abscence.
- Switching mobile phones to silent during meetings.
- Allowing others to speak be heard and respect views shared.
