Barnwood Ward in the 2019 by-election. He has been actively involved in
supporting the community through the Covid-19 pandemic since March 2020,
helping to collect and deliver prescriptions and scheduling appointments at the
surgery or hospitals for residents, assisting with shopping, or just being
there for a chat on the phone with those who felt lonely or isolated during
what was a challenging year for many.
Born
in Hereford, but with family in Gloucestershire, Ashley made Gloucester his
home in 2011 after spending 8 years working in China, Singapore, and the USA.
He has travelled widely through his media career to date which has essentially focused
on building bridges and opportunity between countries and cultures. He speaks
Mandarin Chinese to a conversational standard.
In
representing the local community, Ashley works closely with the City and County
Council, local services, and charities in order to help make Gloucester an even
better place to live, work, and play.
