Dr Kate Edgar

Dr Kate Edgar is a working mother to two boys who attend school locally. She has lived allover the country, from the West Country to the Scottish Borders, before settling in Gloucestershire in 2001. Kate worked as a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS for 20 years, and also for HM Prison Service. As such she is passionate about mental health and also helping people to live as well as they can with chronic illness. Currently in independent practice, Kate is keen to join the PPG team to support Aspen and their patients and to contribute once more to NHS work.  As part of her role with the PPG, Kate has agreed to fill the post as the PPG Secretary.

Kate is also experiencing the longer term effects of Covid-19 which has given her greater insight into living with a longer term, poorly understood illness.
